PURE RAW HONEY

Honey as it exists in the beehive. Strained yet un-filtered and never heated beyond 105 degrees. Our hives remain in their apiaries year round in Schoharie; surrounded by wetlands, forests, meadows, and even our non-chemically treated mixed fruit orchard. The finest tasting honey around, an amalgamation of diverse wildflower nectar sources in every jar.

Pure Beeswax candles

NO ADDITIVES
  • Of the various waxes used in modern candle making (palm, paraffin, soy), beeswax reigns supreme.  No chemicals, no additives, nothing carcinogenic, nothing environmentally unsustainable.  The wax is derived from the melted honeycomb and cappings, and is scented naturally from the nectar that the bees themselves collected and stored in the comb.  Nothing is added to the wax, it is simply melted and filtered of impurities before turning into candles ready to burn.

BURNS BRIGHT
  • Beeswax candles are the cleanest, brightest and longest burning candles.  Being denser and having a higher melting point than other candles, the flame is thus brighter, warmer and longer lasting.

LASTS LONGER
  • Beeswax candles burn longer, drip less, and act to purify the air by emitting negative ions which bind to floating particles causing them to drop out of suspension.

CHEMICAL-FREE
  • Beeswax can act to filter out chemicals from the beehive, which is why its important that our beehives never see pesticide or herbicide use from either beehive treatments or agricultural pollination.  Moreover, the wicks selected for these candles are pure braided cotton, and do not contain any metals or chemicals.

HOW TO BURN
  • Choosing a Beeswax candle means you are supporting the husbandry of honeybees and the farmer who ensures that these small critters live on to continue pollinating Earth's flora for all creatures to survive.

SUPPORTS THE HIVE
    • For new candles, light the wick from the base to allow the beeswax to absorb into the wick

    • Trim the wick during or after burn time to 1/4”

    • Burn to the edge of the candle each session to avoid tunneling

    • Avoid drafty environments to prevent dripping and smoking

    • Keep the wax free of debris

    • Extinguish by smothering or trimming the wick

    • For containers, pour a tiny amount of water into the bottom of the container and the melted wax will be much easier to clean out after the candle is done

    • Never leave a burning candle unattended
